My photo
Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands
After 35 years as an officer with the Tulsa Police Department, I retired & took a year contract job with the Kwajalein Police Dept. The wife, Scott stayed home to take care of the places and all the critters, while I headed off for my year in a tropical paradise. I am at 90% contract complete now and planning my return to the real world. I have had an amazing time and hope that you enjoy the Atoll, through my Blog. Feel free to email me if you have any questions about my time on the Rock.

One of the best dives ever! DJ & I went to the Abyss & Speedball, met by sharks at the start of the dive, during the dive, @ 118’ had 3 sharks come up right next to us. Found several great Anemones and dozens of different fish! Only 1 weekend left.

Went diving today off Gagan Island; great coral! It had the largest clam that I’ve seen so far.

Kristin went with us to check out the scooters, for operation and training. The scooters are used on reef sweeps when we have to swim from the boat onto the small islands to make sure that they are clear (during Missions).
Getting ready.
Underway
JT Jackson underway.

Kristen & I on a quick surface break.

Kyle Smith & I, sitting on the cockpit of a Japanese Zero, shot down 67 years ago.
The plane was almost bent in half.
RJ Johnson checking out the plane.
Another couple of days of diving, which were filled with lots of fish, big schools of barracudas, sharks everywhere checking us out. Yesterday dove the Kembu Maru, which still has caustic chemicals around the ship hull to avoid. This morning after diving the fabulous “SpeedBall” site again, we checked out a Japanese Zero, blown up 67 years ago.
Several schools of large Barracudas passing by.
I'm over 100' and this guy is around 75' or more below me.
Some of these guys will be up close and personal
but turn away when I try and take their picture.
"SpeedBall" site is always a great dive!
A Unicorn fish, while on R&R was told that they were the native favorite (for eating).

Bow gun on the Kembu Maru
Yes, that is our anchor that is on the platform.
I believe the force of the explosion (the rear 1/3 is blown open!) twisted the ladder.
An old barrel, unknown contents; some chemicals still on the ship will burn you, if you contact them!
Railing still standing.
